Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, a tranquil property encompassing 1,400 acres and 96 beachfront suites on Puerto Rico’s northern coast, has appointed Viorica Coman as director of Spa Botánico.

Coman brings over two decades of luxury spa experience to the role, where she will oversee operations at Spa Botánico, the development of new offerings and partnerships, and training for the award-winning, five-acre sanctuary.

Coman's career began in medicine before she pivoted to the world of wellness. Inspired by her love of connecting with nature and the outdoors, Coman moved to Mexico to learn about spa management, finding a natural crossover in the caring nature of both fields. Since then, she has excelled in the spa industry, training teams and opening spas across the Caribbean and Latin America.

Most recently, Coman served as spa director of Alkemia Spa at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve; the spa achieved Forbes Five Star status under her direction.

Coman has already overseen Spa Botánico’s newest partnership with Tata Harper, launching a dedicated menu of facial treatments. She plans to continue expanding the spa's offerings with new body treatments and holistic wellness retreats.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve,” says Coman. “I’ve focused on bridging the gap between nature and well-being throughout my career, and thereis no better setting to provide guests with an unparalleled wellness experience than Spa Botánico.”

When she’s not in the spa or traveling the world, Coman can be found hiking, biking, practicing yoga or salsa dancing.
