Harrah's Resort Atlantic City is celebrating its 40th anniversary, commemorating decades of achievements and milestones. In that time, the bayside destination has been committed to building a strong South Jersey community. For starters, the resort strives to protect the environment through its Code Green initiative, which comprises eco-friendly guestroom experiences and LEED-certified Waterfront Conference Center.

During the pandemic, Harrah's has supported hundreds of local organizations while encouraging team members to do the same. Recently, it has been focused on fighting food insecurity in the area, where the pandemic has impacted many residents throughout Atlantic County. The resort donated a portion of ticket sales from Harrah's Bayside Rock Live outdoor concert series to The Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Additionally, Harrah's Resort has delivered premade sandwiches to multiple local organizations each week, an initiative led by its culinary team. The sandwiches will be used for lunches to support the after-school program and teen center at the Boys & Girls Club, as well as assist nonprofits in the area working to fight food insecurity and homelessness. More than 180 sandwiches were donated to Covenant House, which provides youth homeless shelters in the city; and 150 sandwiches were delivered to Turning Point, an organization dedicated to combating homelessness. Harrah's plans to continue these donations on a weekly basis as needed. By the end of the year, nearly 20,000 items will be distributed to organizations in Atlantic City.
