Until recently, it seemed as though the modern world had hit the snooze button when it came to learning and understanding the importance of a healthy sleep regimen. However, sleep has become a growing wellness concern, with the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) even naming it one of their top seven trends of 2019. Now, researchers are even saying sleep deprivation is the new smoking, and consumers looking to learn more about their circadian rhythms. It should come as no surprise then that spa-goers are seeking treatments that can help them prioritize and optimize their natural sleeping habits. Luckily, sleep treatments are easily tailored to the spa setting, as most clients head to the spa to unwind and relax in the  first place.

Take the Sacred Nap (60 min., $25) at the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, a treatment that cocoons clients in a silk hammock to provide a sense of tranquility. The “air nap” helps guests refresh and recharge their systems, which can often become incredibly bogged down by poor sleeping habits. “Most sleep treatments are designed to invoke deep states of rest and thereby may alleviate underlying worries and anxieties,” explains Luisa Anderson, regional director of the Spas at Four Seasons Resorts Bali, Langkawi and Maldives. The Sacred Nap takes place at the edge of a forest by the serene Ayung River, where wellness mentor Ibu Fera recites the story of Buddha and softly sings.
