Hotels around the world have introduced naturopathic medicine to their treatment offerings.

Naturopaths use natural remedies as part of the healing process, aiming to treat the root cause of health issues rather than just symptoms of things like chronic pain, insomnia, digestive issues and stress.

“More guests are looking to incorporate health and well-being into their day-to-day activities, and that includes while they are on vacation,” says Kelly Manning, a naturopath at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort. “We have noticed increased interest from guests wanting to participate in our nutrition and lifestyle consultations.”

Here are five properties providing naturopathic offerings as a hotel amenity.

Anantara Veli and Anantara Kihavah, Maldives

Both resorts have a resident naturopath who interviews guests and uses epigenetic testing to craft a treatment plan for improving their daily life at the resort or at home. Manning helps visitors understand the overall nutrient value of what they eat and how they can adjust it for optimal health. Both resorts also have a medical spa, which offers vitamin drips and oxygen treatments.

Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, Arizona

Two licensed naturopathic physicians are available to provide consultations at the resort. Available services include IV drips, lipotrophic shots with B vitamins (helpful to the body’s biochemical pathways), cupping and acupuncture.

Cal-A-Vie Health Spa, Vista, California

California’s Cal-A-Vie Health Spa has a doctor specifically trained in natural practices as well as medical science. Dr. Sarah Corey is a naturopathic medical doctor who helps guests identify the root cause of their physical or emotional issues. She then combines natural methods with modern science and is certified to provide wellness injections like immune boosters and hydrating IVs.

Amangiri, Canyon Point, Utah

In fall 2021, Amangiri's featured wellness practitioners will include an energy and sound healer and a naturopathic medicine doctor. They will lead guests through anti-inflammatory meals and vitamin shots, as well as wellness practices including breathwork and daily “doctor-instructed therapeutic circuit training workouts” as part of the retreat.
