Get Ready for the Beauty Changes Lives Experience

BCL[Courtesy Beauty Changes Lives]The 8th annual Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) Experience will be taking place at The Geraghty Chicago on  April 19, 2020. Presented jointly by Beauty Changes Lives, America’s Beauty Show (ABS) and Pivot Point, the evening has emerged as the signature event convening brands, icons and industry professionals representing all facets of the professional beauty sector.

This year’s Experience will blend longstanding elements, including the Legacy Award and runway show. Dermalogica cofounder and chief visionary Jane Wurwand will accept the Legacy Award recognizing her leadership, vision, entrepreneurial spirit and lifelong commitment to professional development. The evening will also introduce the Make Your Mark Awards, honoring emerging next-gen professionals. Whereas the Legacy Award pays tribute to trailblazers who have made indelible contributions to the industry, the new category will celebrate two professionals poised to do the same via a career in beauty. The awards complement the Make Your Mark national recruiting campaign targeting the fiercely independent and entrepreneurial Gen Z, and highlighting the pathways, possibilities and potential available in the professional beauty sector.

BCL executive director Lauren Conway says this year’s Experience will feature promising talent discovered via the BCL scholarship competitions. “As we have awarded more than 500 scholarships, we’ve helped create hundreds of truly life changing stories—several of which will be shared during the 8th annual Beauty Changes Lives Experience,” Conway says. Winners’ descriptions of their career journeys have become a highlight of the annual event. “The Beauty Changes Lives Event held during America’s Beauty Show is an opportunity for all of the industry to come together across areas of specialty, geographic region and stage of professional development,” adds BCL president Lynelle Lynch. “By celebrating emerging talent, we are letting the world see the inclusive, nurturing nature of the professional beauty industry where established icons support those just beginning their career journeys.”
