Spa chain Massage Envy has partnered with professional skincare brand Obagi to provide exclusive facial services and sell Obagi products at its nearly 1,200 franchised locations nationwide. The facials were specially designed to use the brand’s clinical skin care.

These customized protocols begin with a consultation to help the esthetician understand the client’s skin concerns and determine what goals they want to achieve. (Each esthetician undergoes training to obtain an Obagi Medical certification.) The service involves steam cleansing, a variety of exfoliating options, extractions, nourishing mask and a face, neck and décolleté massage; it ends with an application of targeted, proprietary products.

Following the facial, Massage Envy guests can purchase the same skin care used in treatment, allowing them to perform at-home skincare maintenance. Most franchises will carry 10 to 15 Obagi Medical SKUs, including:

  • ELASTIderm Eye Cream, for fine lines and circles around the eyes
  • Professional-C Serum 15%, for antioxidant defense and minimizing the appearance of skin aging
  • Obagi360 Exfoliating Cleanser, a beaded scrub with enzymes
  • Hydrate Luxe, a moisturizing cream that doubles as a mask
