Glen Ivy Hot Springs Names Christopher Scheel as General Manager

Scheel brings more than 28 years of hospitality experience in food and beverage, as well as spa and hotel management, to the wellness destination. “Christopher’s passion for providing state of the art guest experiences is inspiring,” says Ingo Schweder, founder and CEO of GOCO Hospitality, which owns and operates Glen Ivy Hot Springs. “We are thrilled to welcome such a dedicated and talented leader who understands the importance of preserving Glen Ivy’s rich legacy while driving innovation and enhancement.”

With an eye for tailored and unique product lines, offerings and amenities, Scheel has overseen details at Holiday Inn, Choice Properties, Extended Stay America and Hilton Marriott. A passion for brand development led him to Sundara Inn & Spa, where he served as guest services manager before moving into the role of general manager, leading the design and construction of a $20 million expansion. Most recently, Scheel served as chief operating executive of Heart of America Group in Wisconsin, where he oversaw the building and opening of a Hilton Garden Inn and Steakhouse with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
