Located in sunny Southern California, the 3,500-square-foot Four Moons Spa is an all-in- one destination for those seeking a beauty and wellness boost. The spa’s mission is “to curate a high- vibrational, nurturing environment that supports guests on their self- care and self-actualization journeys,” and the menu includes offerings that appeal to a range of client needs. In addition to massages, facials and nail services, they can receive reflexology and acupuncture treatments, astrology and spirit readings, and take part in various yoga and movement classes; Four Moons also hosts writing, nutrition, meditation and space-clearing classes, among others. The modern space features natural design elements, and treatment rooms are comprised of traditional Balinese bales that overlook the koi pond and waterfall, where spa-goers can lounge on an outdoor daybed amidst palm trees and succulents.

Business Savvy

Four Moons’ friendly, close-knit staff are encouraged—by management and one another— to take part in their own self- care. From naturopathic doctors and estheticians to somatic workers and energy healers, employees start each day with meditation and intention setting exercises, practicing what they preach to emulate the company’s mission and better serve its clientele. The spa regularly hosts gatherings to attract new guests, including holiday parties; book, brand and product launches; empowerment workshops; meditation circles; and “makers” markets. “For our recent Holiday Moon Market, we hosted about 20 makers with food trucks, music, spirit readings, energy healings and fun,” enthuses cofounder Letha Sandison. “These events are a chance to connect with the community in a festive way, as well as highlight our vendors. The makers all promote the event through their networks, which broadens exposure for everyone and helps bring in new clients.” In addition, Four Moons’ carefully curated boutique supports local craftspeople and artisans from developing countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, India and Morocco. “We believe in beautiful, unique products that also support their creators,” notes Four Moons Spa cofounder Courtney Mars. Popular items include rose quartz facial rollers and CBD-based Leef Organics, as well as jewelry, candles, incense and other skin care.

Signature Services

The spa’s most popular service, the Thrival CBD Massage (60 min./$130- $140; 75 min./$150-$170), utilizes an organic CBD balm for the body, as well as a relaxing CBD tincture that’s placed under the client’s tongue—a holistic treatment designed to restore balance inside and out. The CBD Facial (60 min./$140; 75 min./$160) can be customized based on specific concerns, and features a CBD face oil, which is massaged into skin using crystal facial rollers. “CBD is an amazing antioxidant. Feeding skin with this superfood has many benefits, including enhancing one’s natural glow, boosting collagen, improving elasticity and evening out skin tone,” says Sandison. “Clients love unique treatments. The CBD beauty wave is here to stay, and we’re happy to offer it on our menu,” adds Mars.
