Organic skin care line Éminence recently completed their 3rd Annual Éminence Kids Foundation Soup Nights! Over the course of two evenings, over 30 Éminence volunteers donated their time to make and serve fresh, organic soups to children and their families staying at the Ronald McDonald House while the children are undergoing treatment at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

The first of the two Soup Nights took place at the Dirty Apron Culinary School in Vancouver. Over 25 volunteers were guided through the creation of over 150 litres of fresh, homemade organic soups ready to serve the following evening to the local Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver. The volunteers cut, chopped, and diced over 200 pounds of organic vegetables generously donated by Pro Organics. Under the direction of Dirty Apron’s celebrated chef Takashi Mizukami, volunteers were able to create three types of delicious and nutritious soups: a delicious chicken & grilled corn chowder; minestrone and chicken noodle.

The following evening, another team of 9 Éminence volunteers were welcomed into the Ronald McDonald House of BC with the fresh organic soups in hand. Currently housing 73 families, the Ronald McDonald House opened up two of their family kitchen areas for us to heat up and serve the soups, along with organic buns and organic juices to over 30 families in just one night. The team of volunteers also brought plenty of extra containers of soup to leave at the facility for families to eat for weeks to come – the organic soups help ease the financial burden that many of the families face when they must relocate to a new city in order to provide their children with the treatments and care they need.

“The volunteers enjoyed their time interacting and getting to know the families staying in the house and the opportunity to hear not only their story, but also how donations and meals like these have impacted their lives,” said Éminence president Boldijarre Koronczay. “On evenings like these, the families truly appreciate having healthy meals prepared while they focus on the care of their sick children during these difficult times in their lives.”
