Inspired by his own carriage house, owner John Dewberry collaborated with spa expert Lydia Mondavi to design a deeply restorative escape. The spa houses five treatment rooms including one couples’ suite, all of which are fully customizable: Guests can control everything from the music to the climate. The space also boasts handcrafted wallpaper from local naturalist Rebecca Barnett, and artwork by Douglas Balentine and Charleston Hughes. The menu lists facials, massages, body services, hair treatments, waxing, lash and brow tinting, and nail care.

Signature Service
In the Relaxation Room, a spa concierge welcomes guests with tea and warm aromatherapy neck pillows. Here, ergonomically designed chaise longues boost relaxation, while treatment rooms feature heated waterbeds and Egyptian cotton linens. Of the services offered, Mondavi singles out The Dewberry Signature Massage (90 min./$215), which combines customized massage techniques with a blend of botanical extracts, as her favorite. “It’s inspired by the idea of the Atlantic Ocean lapping over clients’ skin, with each stroke giving them a different sense of relaxation,” she explains.

Noteworthy
When designing the menu, Mondavi ensured that every service uses Lowcountry botanicals. These include locally sourced herbs and rice, marine extracts and South Carolina’s dewberry plant, a natural anti-inflammatory also believed to help fight signs of aging. Dewberry is further incorporated into other spa elements, from custom-blended tea to infused towels during treatments. In addition to the Dewberry amenity collection, the spa stocks the 29 by Lydia Mondavi line and VOYA skin care.
