The 12,500-square-foot space includes the legendary property’s original, meticulously restored three-lane indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, two steam rooms, a unisex sauna, six personal treatment suites, a couples’ suite, a state-of-the-art Technogym and a nail salon.
The luxury spa was created with a discerning clientele in mind. Its name, Argentta, inspired by the Italian word for silver, pays homage to one of the world’s most healing elements. A palette of metallic hues with gray and white undertones adorns the reception area, treatment rooms and pool, whose mosaic tiles are flecked with genuine silver. From massages and facials to nail services and yoga classes, the menu is extensive and indulgent.
Popular treatments include the Argentta Seven Elements Ritual (90 min./$240 Mon.-Fri., $265 Sat.-Sun.), which uses organic milk, peat enzymes, phytonutrients and arctic berry extracts to cleanse, nourish, exfoliate, detoxify and oxygenate the skin. “More than just a massage, it’s a comprehensive rejuvenation treatment for the body and mind,” says Rakel Cohen, co-owner and senior vice president of design and development of The Watergate Hotel. “People have been gravitating toward it ever since we opened.” Pre- and post-treatment, guests can unwind with complimentary macarons and prosecco in the relaxation area—or find seclusion elsewhere in the spa. “Argentta embraces The Watergate’s signature curved walls, which create intimate, individual nooks for lounge seats, providing comfort and privacy for every guest,” Cohen explains.
