Help clients de-stress this holiday season, harnessing the relaxing power of massage.


‘Tis the season for warm fires, carolers, freshly baked cookies—and stress. According to the American Psychological Association (APA) 22% of Americans report an extreme level of stress during the holiday season.

One way that you can help your clients de-stress and experience much happier holidays is by giving them a release hatch from their worries through massage. Remind them that, according to the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), massage therapy can help reduce stress by lowering heart rate and blood pressure, and has a positive impact on the emotional state.

Furthermore, researchers at the Mayo Clinic have found massage can help alleviate symptoms and issues related to stress, such as anxiety, insomnia, headaches and digestive disorders.

Need a refresher course for the season? The AMTA has recently launched a new online course on massage and stress. “Relief Within Reach: Massage & Stress” reportedly shows how massage therapy can benefit clients that are going through a stressful time. The online course also offers tips and advice on how you can best market this offering to your clients.
