Happy New Year! This marks a time in which we all make promises in an effort to improve our lives or ourselves. Maybe this year you want to be more organized or stick to a budget. Or maybe you want to eat healthier and start exercising.

Whatever your resolution may be, the odds of you holding it past February are slim. According to a study conducted by author and motivational speaker Rory Vaden, 117 million Americans made at least one New Year’s resolution in 2012. And nearly one-third of those resolution makers stopped working on their resolution within the first 30 days of that year.

So what can you do to help make you a resolution keeper this year? Why, there’s an app for that, of course! Here’s a look at five apps to help you see your 2014 resolutions through.

21habit
Here’s one way to keep you going on your resolution — put some money on it! 21habit is a simple Web-based app that lets you set a habit you want to make or break in 21 days. You can either sign up for the free trial mode, or commit all the way by paying $21 up front. Each day you are successful at your goal, you get $1 back. Not a good day? Then 21habit donates $1 of your money to charity.

Lift
Achieve your goals large or small with Lift — a free app available for both iOS and Android. The app lets you set any type of goal you want, monitor your progress through a personal report, and even get support from friends to help keep you motivated.

Fitocracy
If your New Year’s resolution is to get more exercise in then you may want to give Fitocracy a try. The app uses social components to keep users motivated by earning points, levels and badges as they exercise. You can also get competitive with friends as you take part in challenges and “duels.” This free app for both iOS and Android also connects users to tons of fitness coaches and nutrition experts, and allows users to track their progress.

Mint
If your resolution is to work on saving money rather than spending it, Mint may be the app you’re looking for. The free app helps users get a handle on their finances by helping you organize and categorize your spending. The secure app allows you to connect all your accounts so you can see everything in one place under one password, and you can organize your spending into categories with easy-to-understand charts. You can also set goals and stick to budget plans. Available for both iOS and Android.

Any.DO
Resolve to get organized in 2014 with some help from Any.DO — a free app that helps to keep your entire life organized, from shopping lists to doctor appointments. The app is basically a “to do” list app with the ability to organize it all to help you plan your day. You can set reminders, sync items to your computer and email, and share lists with family and friends. The app is available for both iOS and Android, and available in about 15 different languages.
