Skin therapists from all over the world gathered for the annual Symposium.

On September 9 and 10, Dermalogica took over the historic Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, California, for a two-day “journey” that united spa professionals from across the globe.

The 2013 Symposium, titled “Futurescape: Seek. Define. Drive”, was designed to provide tools, knowledge and inspiration to skin therapists and give them ideas for growing their business.

The Symposium included well-renowned speakers from Dermalogica including president and founder Jane Wurwand, vice president of research and development Dr. Diana Howard and director of global education Annet King. Topics discussed encompassed everything from the changing needs of the consumer to business-building tools for spa professionals, to tips on partnering with local nonprofits.

During her address, Wurwand challenged the audience to ask themselves why they chose their current career path as a skin therapist and encouraged them to take pride in their abilities and what they offer their clients. She even demonstrated body language that promotes a more confident state of being and mind. Power pose!
