The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe Offers Festive Events and Activities

The resort is set to offer families movie nights, holiday feasts and festive workshops.

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, is thrilled to welcome visitors with special amenities and festive events this holiday season, making them feel right at home. With a variety of creative workshops and activities, the whole family will enjoy decadent holiday meals and more. The holiday season is sure to be nothing short of enchanting for both guests and locals visiting the resort.

 This year, resort guests and locals are invited to enjoy the following amenities and events:

Marshmology

Nightly at The Fire Pit: 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Join The Ritz-Carlton Marshmologist at the fire pit to learn about the history of the marshmallow and traditional ingredients while enjoying complimentary s’mores with holiday themed marshmallows.

 The Après-Ski Experience 

Daily at The Backyard: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Join us outside near the resort fire pit  – snow pants and all – for a lively après-ski experience including champagne and raw bar of chef favorites to include chilled shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell and ceviche.

 Santa’s Gingerbread Workshop

December 18 and December 20: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kids and kids at heart are invited to work alongside a Ritz-Carlton pastry chef in this one-of-a-kind workshop where you will work together with your family to build a personalized gingerbread house fit for the North Pole. Holiday beverages included!

 Skier’s Lunch Buffet

Daily in Manzanita December 17 through January 8: 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A skier’s lunch buffet featuring soups, salads, popular lunch entrees, seasonal vegetables and a children’s station will be offered during the holidays.

 Holiday Dinner

December 24 and December 25: 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Join us in Manzanita, featuring holiday-inspired specials designed by the chef de cuisine.  

Holiday Buffet

December 25: Seatings from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Celebrate a traditional holiday dinner in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom over an extravagant buffet of seasonal, culinary delights with sumptuous favorites for the entire family.

 New Year’s Eve Celebration

The Living Room, December 31: 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Cherish the memories of the previous year and create new ones with friends and family while enjoying champagne, desserts, live music and dancing. 

Holiday Fitness Classes

December 16 through January 1: Times vary

Ring the New Year with a selection of seasonal, holiday fitness classes including:

·         Yuletide Yoga – Take a breath from holiday hustle and bustle with this class targeting breath control and muscle rejuvenation.

·         Holiday HIIT – Warm up from the slopes with an invigorating seasonal circuit.  Whether you are speeding down the slopes or need to warm up from the winter chill, this will get your heart racing.

·         Winter Conditioning – Increase performance on the slopes by targeting power, agility and dynamic stability with functionally directed explosive and reactive moves.

·         Après Yoga & Stretch – Unwind after an invigorating day on the slopes with gentle movements designed to rejuvenate tired muscles.

ATELIER WORKSHOPS

 Holiday Waxed Ornaments
December 17:  12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
During this workshop, you learn how to color and design your own Tahoe holiday themed ornaments. Learn how to preserve the delicate mulberry paper keepsakes by dipping into encaustic wax!

Holiday Wrapping Paper
December 22:  2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Get crafty with Atelier Truckee just in time for the holidays. Design and hand stamp your very own wrapping paper in the Living Room.

Pine Cone Fire Starters
December 23:  2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
This 10-15 minute drop-in workshop will feature pinecones from the area to make waxed fire starters. After dipping the cones in natural pine and vanilla scented soy wax, you will choose a salt to roll it in. The different salts produce different flame colors. These can be used in your next campfire or in your home as a keepsake.

HOLIDAY SPA SHOPPING

December 16 through January 1: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Join us in The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe this season and enjoy a cup of seasonal tea and holiday treats while shopping for that unique and special gift for your party hostess, friend or love one. Give the gift of relaxation with a gift card to the spa for a massage or facial.

Winter Stargazing Snowshoe Tour

December 21, December 28: 5:00 p.m.

Take advantage of the dark skies above Northstar on a snowshoe tour and telescopic viewing with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen. The guided tour begins at the Cross Country Ski, Telemark and Snowshoe Center and meanders through the serene forest while observing the starry sky above.  At the end for your mountain adventure, enjoy an educational presentation that includes a laser tour of the constellations, telescopic viewing, a fun space quiz with prizes, poetry reading and more on the back terrace of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe.  

Santa and Ms. Claus Appearances

Special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled as the Christmas holiday nears.
