TerraCycle offers a several Zero Waste Boxes that can help salons reduce their environmental impact.

Once salon owners receive a box for the waste stream of their choosing, they can start collecting. Once the box is full, it is shipped to TerraCycle for processing. The shipping cost is included in the price.

Doctor James Fulton, Jr., world-renowned dermatologist, is credited with hiring the first aesthetician on his medical team, was a co-developer of Retin-A and benzyl peroxide and co-founded the Vivant Skin Care line of products.
National Aesthetic Spa Network (NASN) recently honored Dr. Fulton at their 10th anniversary conference in Del Rey, FL. “Dr. Fulton did so much for our industry during his lifetime; we have a lot to thank him for and NASN is here to do that today,” said Denise R. Fuller, Founder of NASN. During the presentation, Michael Q. Pugliese, CEO, Circadia by Dr. Pugliese, Bethal, PA, spoke about the positive influence Dr. Fulton had on him and the industry, while Barbara Marzulli, owner of The Sanctuary at Traditions in Port St. Lucie, FL, and one of the first estheticians Dr. Fulton hired, said she attributes the success and longevity of her career to what she learned from him. Dermalogica, in conjunction with The International Dermal Institute (IDI) recently named Carson, CA-based team member Heather Hickman as the new Senior Director of U.S. Education for the companies. The promotion reflects a powerful fusion of professional products and professional treatment originally conceptualized by company co-founder, Jane Wurwand.
In her new position serving both Dermalogica and IDI, Hickman is responsible for 101 employees, including 65 instructors. For the past three years, Hickman has overseen the education for all IDI instructors, managed the operations for all 17 IDI training centers across the U.S., and ensured that all training centers meet their class student registration and retail sales goals. Hickman’s most recent accomplishment is her integral role in the development and launch of Dermalogica’s first two hybrid immersive Learning Centers in Scottsdale, AZ and Atlanta, GA. These centers offer skin care professionals the most advanced curricula in the professional industry while simultaneously striving to make skin health more accessible than ever to the consumer by offering a full retail space and treatment services.

Recently, the Global Spa & Wellness Summit announced that its eighth annual summit will take place on Wednesday, September 10 through Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Four Seasons Resort Marrakech in Morocco. Hosted and co-organized by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development, the prestigious event is expected to attract a record number of attendees.
In addition, the second annual Global Wellness Tourism Congress will be held September 10, 2014. This event brings together ministers of tourism and thought-leaders to analyze current market conditions and develop new strategies to further develop wellness tourism. According to a recently released Global Spa & Wellness Summit study, wellness tourism is a (US) $439 billion market, representing one in seven tourism dollars.
