The Aveda Global Education Team was one of the recipients of the Third Annual Leonard A. Lauder Volunteer of the Year Award, presented by The Estee Lauder Companies. The award program honors employees for their personal commitment to their communities through volunteerism. Aveda was recognized for its work with Project Homeless Connect in Minneapolis, which will receive a $2,500 donation from The Estee Lauder Companies for this honor.

The Aveda team started working with the nonprofit in December 2010 out of a collective desire to serve the Twin Cities community. Twice a year, this local community services agency transforms the Minneapolis Convention Center into a one-stop-shop of services for the homeless. To date, the Aveda team has provided approximately 2,000 hair cuts to the homeless. Their efforts continue to bring hope and support to Project Homeless Connect’s vision to end homelessness.
