The spa at the Hyatt Regency Century City was the venue for Live Love Spa’s inaugural Splash bash on September 18. Aimed at getting spa vendors in front of media and celebrities, Splash came hot on the heels of the main LLS event at the same venue.

Attendees—who included actress and singer Brittany Snow—had the opportunity to get up close and personal with 15 spa brands, among them Sothys, HydroPeptide, Intraceuticals, blinc, Pure Inventions, Moroccanoil, South Seas Skin Care and Salt of the Earth. They also had the chance to sign up to be pampered and preened with treatments such as Gelish mini manicures, HydraFacial Hydradermabrasion facials and La Bella Donna Mineral Make Up applications.

Founded in 2011, Live Love Spa is an online community for spas and spa owners, brands and industry professionals, as well as spa-loving consumers. From day spas to destination spas to industry chatter to microsites for spa brands, it’s a wealth of information for both consumers and professionals. And while the main LLS event is geared toward key decision-makers who are spa professionals, Splash focuses on the media.

Explains Lisa Michaelis, CEO and founder of Live Love Spa, “Live Love Spa prides itself on being the connector between brands and the people that can drive their business and increase sales. Prior to Splash, the focus was only on spa decision-makers, but another avenue to increase brand awareness and sales is through media and celebrity. We wanted to create that opportunity for media, syndicated TV, celebrities and influential bloggers to experience treatments and meet owners and sales managers face-to-face while they showcase their products. It’s a very powerful way to set their brand apart.”

LLS’s website’s pro content will get a boost in October, when it unveils a job board for both spas and brands at ISPA in Las Vegas. Pros will be able to connect with each other and write articles and upload videos in their areas of expertise. According to Michaelis, “It will serve as a new community resource on the professional side of the industry, and will also feature expert advice for and from industry experts.”
