The 8,700 square foot corporate headquarters and residence is located in McKinney, Texas.

“We are big believers that your daily surroundings have a direct affect on mood, creativity, purpose and well-being,” says Shannon McLinden, founder and CEO of the award-winning FarmHouse Fresh brand. She hired interior designer Janet Gridley to creatively design a space to house her corporate headquarters and adjoining personal residence, a project which was completed in late 2016 by  Dale Schneider of Ryan Hartman Custom Homes.  The bath and body brand, which has planted deep roots in the Dallas area over the past decade, offers natural and organic skincare and bodycare products carried by some of the world’s most prestigious spas, resorts and hotels. The brand is beloved by women worldwide, including celebrity fans Lea Michele, Amy Poehler and Erin Andrews.

Weaving lively animal themes into its decor, this 8,700 square foot corporate headquarters and residence also features a working farm and animal sanctuary on a five-acre hillside property with sweeping views.  The ranch headquarters houses the operation, design and product development teams for FarmHouse Fresh, while also serving as a training facility for spa estheticians and massage therapists.

Gridley, known for her innovative use of pattern and textiles, took the company’s love of fresh farm ingredients and animal rescue mission and brought it to life. The designer, who specializes in residential interiors and boutique commercial projects, says “the places where we spend our lives should be soulful, welcoming, and celebrate the uniqueness of personal taste.”

Gridley sourced new as well as vintage items from local antique shops to decorate the space with southern warmth and humor, then enlisted one local artist to hand-paint custom gingham wallpaper and another to build the company’s desks and cabinets using reclaimed barnwood and plumbing fixtures. “Every detail embodies the brand,” says McLinden, “…from hand-designed farmer figures on the bathroom signs to ceramic bunny lamps and animal artwork throughout, happiness lives here at FarmHouse Fresh.”

The project also embodies the founder’s energy consciousness and love of flora and fauna. Previously used for grazing cattle, the property was designed as an open-concept, green energy-efficient development. The office space is flush with natural light and indoor trees, featuring an all-glass northern wall with indoor/outdoor fireplace, hanging birdcage chair, and a skylight assembly area full of hanging overhead plants and spilling vines. “We wanted to feel as if the outdoors moved inside,” explains McLinden. “I was inspired by a modern glass barn with large walls of windows that made it feel as if you were working in the middle of a field, and taking a breath of outside country air.”

The outdoor commercial glass greenhouse provides year-round harvests capable of yielding up to 50,000 cubic feet of hydroponic farm produce ranging from fresh greens to cucumbers. The company also works with local farmers for large dedicated acreage plantings to ensure that FarmHouse Fresh products are full of purees, extracts, herbs and other natural ingredients.
