Here in Los Angeles, it seems there’s always a reason to look Red Carpet ready, so when I learned that Debbie Thomas, celebrity skin specialist and laser expert, was in town all the way from her U.K.-based medspa D.Thomas Clinic to treat some of her more prestigious clients, I jumped at the chance to have a visit.
Debbie ThomasI met her at The London West Hollywood, where she had a no-frills setup on one side of her suite: massage table, towels and professional products all in a row. I knew there would be no funny stuff—we were about to dive straight into some serious skin care.
After a quick consultation about my sensitive, blemish-prone skin (and, unfortunately, my recent breakout likely related to hormones and stress), Thomas cleansed my face and applied the PCA Skin Revitalize Therapeutic Papaya Mask for some gentle exfoliation, followed by the NeoStrata Redness Neutralizing Serum. She then performed a super relaxing face massage using two Silk’n FaceTite devices—one on each side of my face simultaneously—to warm my skin, stimulate circulation, aid the penetration of actives and boost collagen production, thanks to a combination of bipolar radiofrequency, LED and infrared heat energy. I’m a sucker for a good face massage, so needless to say this heated treatment was total bliss.
From there, Thomas administered the PCA Skin Oxygenating Trio—which stimulates oxygenation and circulation to rejuvenate stressed and/or acneic skin—combined with the Exuviance Bionic Tonic Treatment to gently promote new skin cells and enhance my overall complexion; the blend smelled deliciously sweet and had me thinking about Pixy Stix and summer camp! She then placed an LED therapy device over my entire face and alternated red and blue light for 20 minutes to stimulate turnover and reduce inflammation. The facial concluded with a quick swipe of Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation, a breathable makeup formulation that also encourages healing.
When the time finally came to sit up and look in the mirror, I was thrilled to see the immediate results—my skin was absolutely glowing. My only disappointment? When I stepped outside the hotel, no paparazzi were waiting to capture my fresh face!
