Eyes on Summer Style

Extensions and falsies are fabulous. However, you can still do wonders with a client's natural lashes by following a few expert makeup tips and tricks.
Create romantic and sexy eyes Apply two to three coats of mascara on top and bottom lashes, allowing each one to dry between applications. Try a deep-colored mascara on the outer corners for added intensity.
Offset close-set eyes Concentrate the majority of mascara on the outer half of the lashes. A second application will help visually widen the eyes.
Wake-up tired and puffy eyes Prep the lashes with a light application of mascara all around the eyes. Focus the second application on middle lashes to recede the eyelid area that may be protruding. Use mascara with a little shimmer to help brighten the eye area.
Lighten heavy lids Use an eyelash curler to create an upward illusion. Then apply an even application of mascara around the eyes.
Reduce the appearance of wide-set eyes Apply mascara focusing on the inner half of the eye to visually narrow the eye space. A second application increases the drama.
Narrow a round face Curl lashes and use mascara on the top lashes only. This will help create an elongated appearance to the face.
Soften square facial shapes Create a round-and-soft lash look by applying one even application of mascara around the eyes. Emphasize the corners for an evening look by using the excess mascara on the tip of the wand in just those areas.
Balance a heart-shaped face Begin with a single application of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Focus a second application on the center, lower lashes to soften and balance the facial shape.
For clients with glasses Keep the mascara soft and light around the eyes. Use a brand with shimmer to accent the eye color.
Detract from a large forehead Create fringed lashes by applying two coats of mascara using the tip of the mascara wand. Keeping the focus on the lower lashes will draw attention to the lower half of the face.
Minimize a prominent nose Focus the mascara application on the outer half of the eyes with minimal product on the inner corners. Use colored or shimmering mascara for the second coat to keep the attention on the eyes.
