CND Receives Patent for Revolutionary Shellac System
CND (Creative Nail Design), a global leader in professional nail, hand and foot beauty, has been awarded a total of six patents for its revolutionary CND Shellac™ system. Over time, CND has remained consistently science-based, maintaining chemistry as a core competency. Now, three years after the official launch of CND Shellac, the unique, groundbreaking technology behind the system has been formally recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

According to Vice President of Research & Development for CND, Dr. Dave Valia, “These patents for CND Shellac are a validation of our innovation. They solidify our technical leadership and protect our investment in creating a new category in nail coatings performance and care.”

CND takes great pride in the performance of its products, as well as their strong sense of integrity and innovation. When other companies began outsourcing their research capabilities, CND invested in a multi-million dollar, on-site Research & Development facility. The company’s Research & Development resources have since continually proven their worth, delivering new levels of effectiveness backed by tangible proof, with groundbreaking brands such as Retention+™ Liquid & Powder, Brisa™ Gel, SolarOil™, and VINYLUX™.

In 2010, after nearly five years of development in its state-of-the-art laboratory, CND revolutionized the nail industry with the introduction of CND Shellac, The Original Power Polish™. The three-part system consists of the CND Shellac Base Coat, Color Coat and Top Coat. Each product is cured in the CND UV Lamp for zero dry time, and lasts for up to 14 days, chip-free, while maintaing a high-gloss shine. Each of its unique components – Base Coat, Color Coat, Top Coat and UV Lamp – now holds at least one patent of its own.

In order to ensure that consumers consistently receive Superior CND Shellac Services, CND recently launched the CND Shellac Pro Certification program. Through this initiative, the company offers Nail Professionals an opportunity to learn more about the CND Shellac system, expert application techniques and the ability to become certified as an expert on CND Shellac services.
