Some companies in the day spa industry have been fueled by recent growth:
Irvine, CA-based Solana MedSpas opened nine new medical spas during the third quarter of 2006. The new locations include Nabi Medspa, New York City; Bella Tu Medspa, Nyack, NY; Bella Mi Medspa, Long Island, NY; Tribeca Medspa, Manhattan, NY; Eluma Medspa, Jacksonville, FL; Esteem Medspa, Tampa, FL; TrueGlo Medspa, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Aurora Medspa, St. Louis; and Genesis Medspa, Layton, UT. The company has 25 medical spas open to date, with another 25 slated to open by the end of the year; growth is planned for 100 locations by the end of 2008. “Solana MedSpas is very enthused about these new openings because all the locations were carefully selected in desirable areas with high traffic and excellent visibility,” said Camille Hoheb, the company’s vice president of business development and director of real estate.
Washington-state distributor Salon Services & Supplies recently opened two new locations: a Bellevue Showroom, located on 20th Street in Bellevue, and an Olympia Showroom, located on Lacey Boulevard in Lacey. The company began doing business in 1980 under the name Sebastian of Seattle, and has experienced significant growth in recent years. For more information visit www.salonservicesnw.com.
