Star Treatment: Mediterranean Holiday
Good news for Moroccanoil devotees: The haircare supernovas just unveiled a brand-new body care line that harnesses the cult brand’s signature Argan-rich formulas to deliver intensive moisture, nourishing nutrients and luxurious fragrance to skin.
To celebrate this launch and spice up their menu, the team at Spa L’Auberge—the boutique seaside retreat at the L’Auberge Del Mar resort just outside San Diego—has devised an almost two-hour-long body treatment utilizing some of these exciting new products. This singular experience, The MoroccanOil Head to Toe Ritual (110 min./$250), leaves the hallways and treatment rooms of Spa L’Auberge’s charming, retro beach cottage-themed facility emanating the company’s Mediterranean-inspired scents. It also leaves guests velvety soft from scalp to fingertips to toes, with deeply relaxed muscles and a revitalized sense of bliss.
To perform this service, Spa L’Auberge’s highly skilled therapists utilize Moroccanoil’s new Intense Hydrating Treatment—an antioxidant-rich Argan oil blend with a honey-lavender fragrance—and exfoliating Body Buff. They also incorporate perennial favorites from the company including Scalp Treatment and the Hydrating Hair Mask. However, the products themselves aren’t the main stars of this ritual’s show; rather, they’re employed to help facilitate and improve upon its intensive dry brushing, lymphatic drainage and therapeutic hot stone massage. Here’s how they perform it:
The Moroccan Ritual
This luxurious journey is inspired by a traditional Moroccan Hammam and Shirodhara ritual. The Moroccan Ritual begins with the detoxifying and invigorating benefits of a full body dry brush exfoliation. Once the skin is cleansed and revitalized, MOROCCANOIL’s Intense Hydrating Treatment is applied with a relaxing and deeply therapeutic hot stone massage. Moroccanoil Body Buff is used to gently exfoliate and soften the feet and hands. The journey concludes as MOROCCANOIL’s Shirodhara Scalp Treatment and Intense Hydrating Mask are warmed then massaged into the scalp and throughout the hair.
