While many receive birthday pinches, industry implement giant Tweezerman instead distributed tweezes to fête its recent turning of the big three-oh.

On November 18, 2010 the company—which began 30 years ago with a pair of tweezers and has since expanded to provide a full range of beauty tools for brows, lashes, manicures and pedicures—commemorated its milestone anniversary with an intimate luncheon at the historic Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, California. On its guest list were editors, publishers and sales representatives from industry publications—DAYSPA and a few of our sister publications included.

While attendees dined on a three-course meal and celebratory champagne, president and CEO of Tweezerman, Cornelia Wittke, Ph.D., presented a slide show documenting the changes and growth experienced by the company over the last 30 years. Those in attendance were amused to learn that the company started out with a single door-to-door salesman who worked in Germany. Upon seeing him approach, people would announce, “Here comes the tweezer man!”—inspiring the name and brand that would become a worldwide beauty industry staple.

To conclude the celebration, the team presented product highlights, focusing on the most impacting and bestselling in the Tweezerman Professional line. They then previewed several new items that will be unveiled in 2011.

“We have exciting growth plans for the future and will keep ‘wowing’ beauty professionals with top quality tools and exciting innovations,” Wittke said.

In addition, Tweezerman held a raffle with prizes and cash cards for their guests, as a thank you for their continued support.
