The Beauty Collection team has been perfecting the art of the curated product and treatment haven since 1982, when its first store launched in Los Angeles. Second and third locations have since opened to serve the beauty enthusiasts of Malibu and Calabasas. On the evening of May 2, however, the boutique beauty store made its debut beyond the borders of Los Angeles County via the grand opening of its latest outpost in Newport Beach, California. That’s right, Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore. Orange County denizens now have their own one-stop shop for specialty high-end skin, hair, cosmetic, fragrance, children’s and even pet solutions.
Owner Shawn Tavakoli spent three years questing for the perfect Orange County spot before settling on an attractive storefront within Newport’s Corona del Mar Plaza. “It’s ideal for Beauty Collection,” he says, noting, “The demographics fit perfectly with our upscale and exclusive brands.”
Local press and beauty mavens toasted the opening with champagne, hors d’oeuvres and mini-treatments care of such exciting brands as Minx Nails and The Body Art Professional. Principals and brand ambassadors from specialty lines such as Goá Cosmetics, Doop Products and It Factor Beauty were also on hand to celebrate alongside the Beauty Collection team and answer event-goers’ questions about their products.
Beauty Collection’s “Curators in the Art of Beautiful” of Newport Beach have indeed assembled a dazzling collection of niche lines including Dermalogica, Caudalie, Epicuren, Natura Bisse, Solano hair tools, MoroccanOil, Gorgeous Cosmetics, Jane Iredale, OPI Products and much more. What’s more, estheticians will tap these lines to perform custom-tailored facials in the store’s treatment room, where waxing services will also be available.
