Ardell Shows Support for Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards

For the third consecutive year, Ardell lashes was a proud Ruby sponsor of the annual Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS) held Sunday February 19, at the NOVO Theatre in Los Angeles. The crowd of more than 500 attendees gathered to celebrate the transformative work of make-up artists and hair stylists from top television shows including Game of Thrones, Westworld, Empire and American Horror Story and movies La La Land, Nocturnal Animals, Loving, and Doctor Strange.

For more than 45 years, Ardell lashes have been a staple in the kits of Hollywood’s top make-up artists, as such, Ardell has endeavored to provide support for the dedicated artists who bring to life television and film’s favorite characters. Ardell maintains a solid relationship with Local 706 make-up artists including the following MUAHS Guild award winners and nominees; Eryn Krueger Mekash, Silvina Knight and Kim Ayers for their work on American Horror Story: Roanoke; Beverly Jo Pryor, Eric Pagdin and Ashunta Sheriff for their work on Empire; Tegan Taylor and Tania McComas for their work on Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life; Melanie Hughes Weaver and Judy Yonemoto for their work on Hairspray Live! and Torsten Witte for his work on La La Land. The brand was privileged to have been a part of honoring Barbara Lorenz, most recently recognized for her work on La La Land, and Leonard Engelmen, best known for his work with Cher and Meg Ryan, with the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Writer, director, producer, Ryan Murphy received the Distinguished Artisan Award for his dedication in recognizing the significant artistic contributions of make-up and hairstyling in television and movies especially in the compelling characters of his award-winning series American Horror Story, Scream Queens, Nip/Tuck and the anticipated anthology series, Feud: Bette and Joan. Murphy announced his new foundation, Half, which aims to fill 50 percent of all director positions on his shows with women, people of color and members of the LGBTQ community and the promotion of artist Eryn Krueger Mekash, who received awards for Best Special Make-Up Effects on American Horror Story: Roanoke and Best Character Make-up for her work on The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, to the role of producer in Murphy’s 20^th Century Fox TV based production company.
