Institut' DERMed recently appointed Charles Gregg to the post of chief operating officer. With 15 years of healthcare startup and operations management experience, Gregg’s goal is to increase brand awareness, sales and distribution as he helps lead the company in its March 2008 launch in all 27 countries of the European Union. "We are excited to increase our distribution in Europe and hope to expand to Asian markets following this launch," says Lyn Ross, company president and founder.
The South Carolina Esthetics Association (SCEA) for continuing education recently acquired Harriet Cheri Wilson as its newest educator. Wilson is a licensed cosmetology instructor in North and South Carolina with 32 years of teaching experience in the industry. The SCEA provides skincare education from basic postgraduate training to high-end, medical-based aesthetic treatment protocols.
Bio-Therapeutic welcomes Sallie Dietz to its Education Development department. Dietz has more than 24 years of esthetics experience, including 12 years managing the Center for Facial and Plastic Laser Surgery in Bellingham, WA, and current service on the committee of the National Interstate Council of State Board Examiners to help develop an advanced practices licensing exam for master estheticians.

Murad has expanded its team by two. Lori Jacobus will serve as the company’s Vice President of Global Marketing, and Danny Guez (left) will become the new Director of International Sales for Europe and the Middle East. “We are focused on expanding our infrastructure to meet growing worldwide demand for our products,” says Murad COO Richard Murad. “Just as we responded to the tremendous growth in our domestic business with a corresponding increase in staff and support, we will meet the consumer demand for our products and services on an international level with equal preparedness.” Jacobus will work to drive brand growth and equity through strategic global marketing initiatives; Guez will oversee business development in Europe and the Middle East, regions that represent a significant percent of Murad’s total international business.
Larry Silvestri, senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Chicago-based Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas, has been named to the Board of Directors of Cosmetologists Chicago (CC). Silvestri is a 27-year industry veteran and member of Intercoiffure-Mondeial and the National Cosmetology Association. CC is an association of 5,000 salon professionals that offers its members continuing education, legislative representation, technology, scholarships and networking opportunities.
CND has hired Tony Nemer to be its Vice President of International Sales. Nemer formerly held positions at American Crew.
